NFL Football Streaming for the Young Audiences

Americans are very passionate about football; there is no doubt about that. Since NFL season 2014 has started, it is expected that television ratings will be significantly huge. Last NFL season, there were weeks wherein 3 of the top 5 Nielsen rated television shows were the nighttime broadcasts of NFL games. This means that Americans prefer football than other entertainment programs. However, many football fans prefer live streaming on their chosen platforms. For everybody’s information, you can watch NFL football streaming here.

Professional football on television

NFL has recently extended its contract with the Fox, CBS and NBC to allow them to broadcast NFL football games. The agreement will run through to NFL season 2022 with roughly 60% more for the rights to air. For $3 billion a year the networks gain 3 Super Bowls but NBC will maintain its flexible schedule for the Sunday night games for the second half of the NFL season as well as the rights to the Thanksgiving primetime games. With the inclusion of other media deals like DirecTV and Westwood One Radio it will all add up to about $7 billion a year for NFL teams starting 2014. The share of each team is estimated at more than $200 million annually without the money from beer, tickets and jerseys. On the average, each NFL team is worth about $1.04 billion which is twice that of Major Baseball League (MBL) and three times more than what NBA teams are worth. Last year the Super Bowl enjoyed an audience of 111 million and the NFL games represented 23 out 25 of the most watched TV programs. These numbers do not include international audiences who have found a way to watch NFL games in countries outside the United States.

Why are there no live NBL games on the web like they do on TV?

NFL gains huge revenues from TV and sponsorships but how come it does not want to make money through the internet? NFL has all the capability since it has allowed the pre-season games but how come there is no live streaming for regular games? A large group of young audiences prefer live streaming on their smart phones, laptops and tablets and they are willing to pay for online content whenever it is available. If young audiences can watch NFL games online, it makes social media interaction easier. If NFL was to offer live streaming for regular games and charge a fee it will ensure another source of revenue for the teams. The internet is a potential source of revenue for NFL and the football organization is missing out on the opportunity. However, what would happen to cable television if NFL games can be easily accessed online? A lot of people might give up their cable subscriptions if they can watch football on their computers.

Someday in future, it would be easy for everybody to simply access the football games through the web but until that time happens, people just have to be contented watching the games on TV or downloading apps from websites that offer football streaming.
